Live it out
For each video, we will respond to the teaching and passage in an embodied way.
This just means that we will do something with our bodies that helps us absorb our video learning into something with the power to transform.
As you “Live it out,” keep in mind:
It’s OK if the activity feels a little weird. Growth happens when we are vulnerable.
You do not have to worry about getting it right. I promise, there is no right way to do any of these embodied activities.
Go slow. These activities should feel like tilling the relational soil with God, not toiling in the hot sun. Relax and enjoy the process.
Ready, set, grow.
-
Lord, Fill me with the trust to wait on you in all that I do. Amen
-
Spend one day, where every time you have to wait, you resist entertaining yourself with your phone or computer. (Maybe this is a “me” problem) When you’re in line, at gymnastics with your kid, at the DMV, or just waiting for something to download on your computer, don’t fill your mind with scrolling or surfing. Just wait.
-
When you were forced to wait without the crutch of your phone or computer, what did you do? Did you notice something you otherwise wouldn’t have? Did you sing or dance to keep yourself occupied? Did you think about something you didn’t even know what on your heart and mind? Jot down WHAT you do in the waiting and save your observations for your reflection.
