Live it out

For each video, we will respond to the teaching and passage in an embodied way.

This just means that we will do something with our bodies that helps us absorb our video learning into something with the power to transform.

As you “Live it out,” keep in mind:

  • It’s OK if the activity feels a little weird.  Growth happens when we are vulnerable.

  •  You do not have to worry about getting it right.  I promise, there is no right way to do any of these embodied activities.

  • Go slow.  These activities should feel like tilling the relational soil with God, not toiling in the hot sun.  Relax and enjoy the process.

Ready, set, grow.

  • Lord, Help me to trust in you so that I do not become the lie I was called to expose. Amen

  • I recently read something that made me stop dead in my tracks: “All clothes are handmade.” There are no magic machines that stitch our clothes together, they are the product of human labor we rarely consider.

For three days, every time you change your shirt or put on a jacket or sweater, pause, and, holding the article of clothing in your hands, pray for the person who made the item.

If you have trouble remembering, set an alarm to say a prayer for the makers of your clothing three times a day.

  • If you feel like you notice or learn something from the experience, jot down your thoughts and save for reflection.

It is also totally fine to just thoughtfully pray for our clothes makers without getting or learning something from the experience.
