Live it out

For each video, we will respond to the teaching and passage in an embodied way.

This just means that we will do something with our bodies that helps us absorb our video learning into something with the power to transform.

As you “Live it out,” keep in mind:

  • It’s OK if the activity feels a little weird.  Growth happens when we are vulnerable.

  •  You do not have to worry about getting it right.  I promise, there is no right way to do any of these embodied activities.

  • Go slow.  These activities should feel like tilling the relational soil with God, not toiling in the hot sun.  Relax and enjoy the process.

Ready, set, grow.

  • Lord, Help me to embrace living in the truth by digging into the very good earth you created. Amen

  • God has given humanity the job of caring for non-human creation. This week, engage in an act of creation care. This might be:

    • Trash pick-up at a local park;

    • Planting a tree;

    • Buying your weekly produce from a farmer’s market;

    • Eating a vegetarian diet for a week;

    • Not buying any new stuff for the week.

    Remember, caring for creation doesn’t have to mean taking a hike or driving to the woods. God’s non-human creation is all around us in the places we live.

  • Whatever you do, take a single picture that captures your experience and save it for your reflection.
