Live it out

For each video, we will respond to the teaching and passage in an embodied way.

This just means that we will do something with our bodies that helps us absorb our video learning into something with the power to transform.

As you “Live it out,” keep in mind:

  • It’s OK if the activity feels a little weird.  Growth happens when we are vulnerable.

  •  You do not have to worry about getting it right.  I promise, there is no right way to do any of these embodied activities.

  • Go slow.  These activities should feel like tilling the relational soil with God, not toiling in the hot sun.  Relax and enjoy the process.

Ready, set, grow.

  • Lord, Help me to trust in your love and forgiveness, so that I may live in the power of your love. Amen

  • This week’s “live it out” exercise is to take communion. If you are a person who takes Communion regularly, you’re getting off easy this week. When you take Communion, reflect on the way through the bread and the wine, Jesus had come up with a way for you to taste, and see, and take into your body the truth of his forever and no matter what love.*

If you are not part of a a church that regularly takes Communion, try attending church for one week that does (You’re probably most likely to find this at more traditional Protestant Churches like Lutheran, Methodists, Presbyterians, or Episcopal, Catholics take Communion regularly but there are limitations on who can receive it.)  You can either take Communion with that community, or if you’re not ready, you can worship with a community and observe the community as they receive it.

  • Where ever you receive of observe communion, pay attention to and joy down the words spoken when the elements are served (this is different across traditions) and jot them down.
